Municipalities have an excellent opportunity to gain access to financial support of up to 60,000 € and to provision of technical assistance for the design and maturation of projects that will create the sustainable cities of the future. These projects should be related to smart energy management, energy upgrades and carbon footprint reduction.
The funds will be provided by the European Initiative called “European City Facility – EUCF”; the 3rd Call for applications will be open until 17 December 2021 (18:00 EEST, Greece local time). EUCF initiative aims to help the Municipalities to overcome the obstacles that they face regarding the implementation of ambitious energy transition plans and to move towards the use of Renewable Energy Sources. Within this framework, EUCF will fund proposals that will indicatively lie in the field of smart energy management, energy upgrades and carbon footprint reduction. SUSTAINABLE CITY Network, as the National Network of the EUCF initiative in Greece, will hold the 3rd National Webinar on November 9, 2021, 11:00 – 12:30 EET, to inform all the potential interested beneficiaries (e.g. Municipalities, local authorities or their groupings) about the goals of the EUCF and the application process. The webinar will be conducted in Greek and all the steps of the application for the 3rd EUCF Call will be presented in detail (e.g. funding opportunities arising from it, application process, eligibility criteria).
