The 2nd Transnational Meeting of the European Project SETOFF took place on 21-22 November in Benaguasil, Spain, with the participation of 17 representatives of the partner institutions from North Macedonia, Greece, Belgium and Spain. The purpose of the project is to develop an innovative remote learning (e-training) programme based on a successfully tested and applied simulation model, incorporating the latest scientific knowledge and a comprehensive analysis of training needs. Sustainable City Network participates as the coordinator of the new three-year project “Sustainable Tourism Innovation Through Hybrid Project Management – HyPro4ST”, which was officially launched and held its Kick-off Meeting in Athens on 22-23 September 2022. This project aims to implement an innovative and holistic approach in providing solutions in education to promote the sustainable development of the tourism sector through the creation of a new job profile named "Sustainable and Hybrid Project Manager". It also aspires to improve the knowledge and skills of people working in the tourism sector in the field of sustainable, hybrid, digital, creative, and entrepreneurial project management. The Cities Network "SUSTAINABLE CITY" participated in the 2nd Living Streets event, organized by the Municipality of Elliniko – Argyroupoli during the European Mobility Week (16-22 September 2022). Living Streets took place in Ethnikis Antistasis Square and the surrounding streets of Elliniko from 16 to 18 September 2022. The Living Streets initiative was first introduced in Greece in 2021 with the contribution of SUSTAINABLE CITY Network, which selected two of its municipalities-members (Elliniko – Argyroupoli and Corinth) to implement it. Continuing this initiative for another year, the Municipality of Elliniko – Argyroupoli organized again this year its own Living Streets event focused on the theme "Move freely, Act Ecologically", while converting this initiative into a successful opportunity. The 1st Annual Review Meeting of the DECIDO project took place on the 20th of May 2022 in Palermo, Sicily. The meeting was organised as a hybrid event for the partners' convenience, offering them the choice to either attend physically (on-site) at the offices of Engineering Ingegneria Informatica S.p.A. - ENG (project coordinator) in Palermo or remotely (online). SUSTAINABLE CITY Network attended the meeting physically and the project partners had the opportunity for the first time after more than 12 months of remote collaboration, due to covid-19 restrictions, to meet face to face, thus strengthening the existing strong ties of cooperation and teamwork. As the National Network of the EUCF Initiative for Greece, the Cities Network "SUSTAINABLE CITY" successfully organized the 4th National Webinar and presented the 4th and last Call for Applications. Through the project, Municipalities can gain access to financial support of up to €60,000 for performing studies in order to increase their projects' maturity within the framework of green energy and sustainable development, such as improvement of buildings’ energy efficiency, energy saving and carbon footprint reduction. The EUCF Project is an initiative that gives municipalities and local authorities the opportunity to gain access to financial support of up to €60,000 to conduct studies for the design and maturation of projects. These studies will result in the development of new sustainable investment plans, which need to focus on smart energy management, energy upgrades and carbon footprint reduction. The 4th Call for applications will be open until 30 September 2022 (18:00 EEST, Greece local time). |
